Random Word

There are so many times when I get stuck while writing. There are a lot of ways that writers get over that. Some take walks, some meditate. Me? My best option is to do random word.

There are a lot of random word generators, but the one I use is watch out for snakes, which doesn’t seem like it would be a word generator, but it is.

Most of the time I do this with my writing group, which is a much better idea for me than doing it by myself. What happens is each of us choose a story that you want to work on that night, we look at the word, and then we write a scene until we can’t write anymore, or until we finish the scene, whichever comes first. Some of the scenes never make it into the actual draft of the book, but it can definitely help get out of a writing funk.

Try it out, let me know how it goes.
